Pediatric Oral Radiology: From Radiation Safety to Lesions & CBCT

This seminar will provide the attendee the most common radiographic lesions that are presented in infants, children, and adolescents. The seminar will use case-presentation as the learning and discussion format and will cover the entire spectrum of oral radiology in pediatric dentistry. Topics such as radiation safety, digital radiology, CBCT in pediatric dentistry, radiographic interpretation, and common radiographic lesions in children will be covered in this seminar.
Learning Objectives:
1) Understand the importance of “building” a differential interpretation in radiology.
2) Learn the most common radiographic lesions in infants, children, and adolescents.
3) Learn the indications of CBCT within the frame of practicing pediatric dentistry.
4) Understand the importance of radiation safety in the practice of dentistry with children and adolescents.

About the speaker
Juan Yepes, D.D.S., MD, MPH, MS, DrPH
Dr. Yepes is a Professor in the Department of Pediatric Dentistry at Indiana University School of Dentistry. He is a dentist and a physician from Javeriana University at Bogota, Columbia who moved to the USA in 1999. He is also a Clinical Professor at the University of Buffalo.
