Friday Topic: Fresco Italian
In the big cities and tiny villages of Italy, families and friends eat al fresco on most evenings, enjoying cool breezes under the starlit sky. In Minnesota, these opportunities are all too limited, so we need to get ready to make the most of them. With a hands-on experience, we will show you how to make the most of Italian flavors, in anticipation of the warmer weather coming. Menu: White Bean Bruschetta with Grilled Radicchio; Chopped Caesar Salad; Handmade Pappardelle with Creamy Pesto Sauce and Chicken; Tiramisu; and Italian Sangria
Saturday Topic: Thai Temptations
Do you like eating Thai and want to be able to make it at home? Join in the fun with a hands-on cooking experience at Cooks of Crocus Hill. You'll be amazed at how you can put together a menu to excite your friends and family.
Menu: Spring Rolls with Nouc Cham; Green Papaya Salad; Green Coconut Curry with Rice; Grilled Tropical Fruit with Ginger Honey Glaze; and Bubbly Rose
The classes will take place at Cooks of Crocus Hill with one of their renowned chefs providing instruction. Transportation will be provided to and from the RiverCentre plus a little time to explore the store and the local area. Participants must be 21 years or older to consume alcoholic beverages.
For the past 30 years, Cooks of Crocus Hill has been the Twin Cities' industry leader in all things culinary. We were the first cooking school to bring nationally recognized chefs and cookbook writers to the area, the first retail store to incorporate cooking classes and the first specialty gourmet store to directly import culinary products. Life happens in the kitchen. That's our belief and we're sticking to it.

This year we will discover the wondrous wines from Germany. Germany is one of the most northern wine-growing countries in the world. Its growing season allows for a gentle maturing of sugar and acids to create wines with a striking balance and mineral. We will begin with a sparkling wine followed by a tutorial on Riesling in the styles of Kabinett, Spatlese and Auslese. We will also be tasting two Spatburgender (aka Pinot Noir) from two different regions.
