Frequently Asked Questions

I am an MDA member dentist; do I pay to attend the meeting? May I bring a spouse or a guest?

Free registration to the Star of the North Meeting is a member benefit available to all MDA members who have paid their current dues. Dentists who are registered to attend the Star of the North Meeting may register their spouse or guests for $15.00 (children under 18 are free). Dentists and student dentists MUST be registered as either ADA/MDA members or non-members and may not be registered as spouses, guests, dental educators, or any other category. All registered attendees may visit the exhibit hall, attend the keynote program, enjoy the table clinics and register for any seminars. Please note that if you plan to pre-register, your 2017 dues must be paid before your registration will be processed.

What if I must cancel my registration?

Cancellation requests must be received by QMS on or before April 7, 2017. All cancellations are subject to a $15 per person cancellation fee. If tickets/badges have been received, they must be returned to QMS before a refund will be processed.

If you registered online, please make any cancellations/changes to your online account. If you registered by mail, cancellations must be submittee in writing to QMS by April 2. Their address is: QMS Services, 6840 Meadowridge Court, Alpharetta, GA 30005.

Requests for refunds after the April 7 deadline, will be reviewed by the Scientific Session Committee on an individual basis. Requests must be received prior to May 8 and mailed to QMS at the address listed above. (attention: Refund Requests) Please include a letter explaining any extenuating circumstances and enclose unused badges/tickets. Requests received after the May 8 deadline, will not be reviewed.

Can I still get my CE if I can’t stay for the entire program?

Completion codes are announced at the conclusion of every CE-eligible course. Full credit should not be expected for courses that are not attended in their entirety, so do not arrive late or leave early. If you leave before the code is announced, you will forfeit any CE credits.

How do I print my CE verification?

You may print your CE Verification Transcript onsite at the CE Verification Stations located in the Rotunda area. Don’t want to stand in line? Access your CE Verification record online at www.starofthenorthmeeting.org and print a copy to keep for your records. You’ll need your registration number (from your name badge) and course completion codes for any table clinics or programs you attend.

Please note that you should also keep your program book and any notes/handout materials as proof of attendance. It is your responsibility to record the completion codes and retain the transcript to verify your individual program attendance. This Board of Dentistry will not accept a list of completion codes as proof of your attendance.

I’m signed up for a workshop, do I need to bring anything?

It is recommended that all workshop participants bring protective clothing and eyewear. If your workshop requires other supplies, they will be listed in the preliminary program book along with the course description. In addition, we will mail a list of supplies needed to each participant about 3 weeks prior to the course. Participants who do not bring the proper supplies do not qualify for a refund.
